Perfect rod for the 130 class penn VIS

This rod is a beast. It is extremely strong with very, very, little flex. I bought this rod to "muscle" in and make brusque piece of work of the GBFT nosotros get in the NE/NJ coast, which for the most function are 100-200 lb fish as 200+ are pretty rare. Since this rod is and so stiff, your line-fishing technique is somewhat different vs using say an 80lb rod which has more flex and is more forgiving. With the 130 lb rod, you demand to be conscious to keep the line tight at all times and avoid slack lines as this rod doesn't flex much. This is not a "stand" rod .... leave it in the rod holder and crank away only like in Wicked Tuna.
I have non used the rod as of yet but can't wait. The rod is peachy quality and extremely well congenital with neat rollers, corking aptitude barrel and a bang-up eglass/fiberglass bare.
Pros
- Extremely potent, well built, great rollers and bent butt. This rod is capable of catching any GBFT in the NE/NJ coast.
Cons
- Rod is probably overkill for xc+% of all BFT we get in NE/NJ coast and has footling flex and then fishing technique will need to modify somewhat with this rod. Non a "stand up" rod then go out in rod holder.

This rod would pair well with a Penn Fathom 2speed in a forty size for your desired trolling application, this fix together would certainly be able to handle that course of fish

Unfortunately we practise not know the exact model of the rod that was in the video. A good rod to pair with the Squall 30 VSW would be the ALLBW308060CRS.
